FULTON MARKET BUILDING
The Fulton Market Building was developed by the Rouse in the South Street Seaport district of New York City. The development is located in a designated historic district requiring the close oversight of the borough historic commission. The district features some of the oldest architecture in downtown Manhattan and includes the largest concentration of restored early 19th century buildings. The area includes renovated original mercantile buildings and renovated sailing ships. The area had become dilapidated. The Fulton Fish Market, like Faneuil Hall in Boston, revitalized an area replete with historic urban fabric.
This project was done with Benjamin Thompson and Associates.
